We are delighted to announce that illustrator Marina Dimopoulou will be the next artist-in-residence at the Velanidi Residency Program in Peleta, Arcadia.
From April 27 to May 4, Marina will spend a week in the village, focusing her artistic research on mapping the local landscape through the stories and experiences of the children attending Peleta’s primary school. Through a process of collaborative exploration, she will gather memories, images, words, and traces from the natural and human environment, following the unique paths of childhood imagination.
During her stay, she will develop an illustrated map of Peleta, guided by the children’s narratives, everyday routes, and personal recollections—bringing to life a visual archive of place through their eyes.
Marina Dimopoulou’s proposal was selected from a number of exceptional submissions to Velanidi’s first open call. The residency program is supported by and held under the auspices of the Hellenic Ministry of Culture.A Place
