Mythical roots, magical branches

21-31 July | Invited illustrator Liza Adamandidi B.

Liza Adamantidi B. –an illustrator of Greek-Armenian origin– will be the first guest artist at Peleta. Liza’s work explores the relationship between the real and the imaginary, peeking for their boundaries between myths, people’s stories, and nature. Liza appropriates and invents mythical characters, iconographic elements, and places from the Byzantine tradition, creating a new language for the reader/viewer. Her work offers ways to imagine unexplored worlds where nature retains its magic and the traces of myth remain visible –as long as we turn our attention to them.
