Illustrating Ethnographies: Results Announcement 2026

We are delighted to announce the results of the open call for Illustrating Ethnographies, Velanidi Residency’s research-based artistic residency programme in Peleta, South Kynouria.

The selection was made by a five-member jury, whom we sincerely thank for their time, care and valuable contribution to the evaluation process:

Eirini Kemerli, German-language teacher and Deputy Mayor for Culture of the Municipality of South Kynouria
Zoi Koskinidou, journalist, Kokkini Alepou

Illustrating Ethnographies: Drawing the Field will take place in Peleta from 21 to 28 June 2026, approaching illustration as a research tool and as a means of observation and ethnographic documentation.

The programme is organised by Modal Public Heritage Lab – Velanidi Residency, in collaboration with the Greek Children’s Book Circle – Greek Section of IBBY, under the auspices and the support of the Greek Ministry of Culture and with the support of the Municipality of South Kynouria.
